Volunteering at Leicester LGBT Centre
You are in: Home: Job & Volunteer Vacancies
Volunteering:
Without volunteers we would be unable to provide the wide range of services on offer at the Centre. It takes all kinds of people and a wide variety of skills and abilities to make an organisation like LLGBTC work effectively. People who give their time doing administration, decorating or other behind the scenes tasks are just as important as those that support clients directly. Even if you only have a one or two hours a month to spare your contribution can make a difference .
We can sometimes find volunteer opportunities for LGBT volunteers within other volunteering organisations.
Current Vacancies
We have a wide variety of volunteering opportunities at the Centre. Please contact Dennis Bradley, Centre Support Officer, on 0116 254 7412 or email dennis@llgbc.com for further details.
Helpline Volunteers
The Leicester Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender Helpline has been in operation since 1983. The Helpline became part of the Centre’s operations in 1986 and has continued to be staffed by volunteers ever since. Operating the Helpline can be rewarding in many ways. It is an opportunity to help others who may seeking information & advice about local venues or who may be questioning their sexuality, be encountering homophobia or transphobia or need advice about many other LGBT related issues. The helpline is currently open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30 - 10pm so volunteers would need to be available on some Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
